City Average Monthly Payment Plan

The City of The Colony is pleased to offer a Fixed Average Monthly Payment (AMP) plan. This will allow customers to average their utility costs over a period of time. Generally, an AMP billing is based upon the average of monthly charges for the past twelve (12) months at the current location. This service can be especially helpful when water usage fluctuates during the year with summer irrigation and lower winter usage. It provides the ability to plan your budget! AMP bills are reviewed periodically, and will be recalculated after each December billing to reflect any increase or decrease in actual bills.

How do I enroll in the plan?
In order to qualify for the plan, your account must have a history of at least 12 months. Your account must be current (no past due amounts). In addition, if AMP Plan payments are not made promptly, the account may become ineligible and be removed from the AMP Plan, at which time your next regular bill will be a “settlement” bill and will include all unpaid and current charges. You may enroll in the AMP plan at www.thecolonytx.gov under Online Services, or contact our office at 972-625-2741.

Donations
The City of The Colony implemented a program two years ago that allows citizens to voluntarily donate to the City for public purposes. This is done by selecting the appropriate option(s) on the monthly utility bills:

$1 Add-On Program: The customers can contribute an extra $1.00.

Recycling Rebate Program: Customers can donate the recycling rebates.

The City Council has designated the donations to be used for social and community services, public safety citizen programs, and beautification projects that may include SH 121 landscaping, signage, gateway entry beautification and light pole painting.

If you wish to participate in one or both of the donation programs and you use the online or bank draft payment method, please complete the enrollment form on our website (www.thecolonytx.gov) or, call the Utility Administration Department, 972-625-2741 for assistance.

If a customer is enrolled in the donation program, they can request to be removed from participating by checking the proper box on the payment coupon and returning the payment coupon to the office or by contacting the Utility Administration Department.
